I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served four honorable years from October 1988 to September 1992. During my active service years, I was deployed to serve in the country of Bahrain during the Gulf War-particularly during Operation Desert Storm for the liberation of Kuwait. Months after my return stateside, I received orders and was transferred to Okinawa, Japan. During my duty in Okinawa, I attended and graduated from the Marine Corps Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Course for Corporals and Sergeants. For my honorable service, I earned the following Awards: Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait) and Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia) and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
